What Shape is Your Face?
The study of art and personal appearance suggests that there are seven types of female faces. Facial shape will have important implications in choice of make-up, and plastic surgery techniques. The seven basic shapes are:
- Oval - The oval contour and its variants are often considered the ideal face.
- Inverted Triangle- The forehead is broad and the jaws and chin taper from the cheekbones to the chin line. The chin may be pointed. Variations of this face are very feminine and considered by some to be ideal.
3. Diamond- The face is wide through the cheekbones with a narrow forehead and pointed chin.
4. Round- This face is full, like a moon, with a rounded jaw line and forehead.
5. Square- This face has a broad jaw and square chin line. The forehead carries the same square line at the temples and across the hairline.
6. Oblong- This face is long and thin. The forehead is only slightly wider than the chin.
7. Triangle- This face has a narrow forehead and the jaws are broad.
Facial shape will determine cosmetic and non-invasive and invasive plastic surgery techniques. Remember your facial shape will change with age.
